Merewether Podiatry











Merewether Podiatry initially engaged Design Bug to improve the visibility of their clinic signage on a busy Newcastle road. However, early conversations revealed the challenge extended beyond signage alone.
The existing brand no longer reflected the energy, professionalism and direction of the practice.
The project evolved into a full brand refresh, creating a modern identity that better represented the clinic and its patients. The identity has since extended seamlessly to the practice’s second location, New Lambton Podiatry, maintaining a consistent presence across both clinics.
The Thinking
In healthcare environments, brand and space work together to build trust. For Merewether Podiatry, the goal was to create an identity that felt professional and confident while remaining approachable for patients.
Rather than simply updating signage, we developed a considered brand system that would translate consistently across the clinic environment, digital platforms and patient communications.
The Identity
The identity draws inspiration from podiatry itself. The logotype was created along a subtle curved baseline, referencing the natural arch of the foot, while a refined symbol was developed using linework inspired by foot pressure plate imagery used in podiatry assessments.
A grounded palette of rust, sage, olive and charcoal tones was introduced to complement the clinic interior while creating a warm and distinctive healthcare brand.
In Practice
The refreshed identity was implemented across signage, stationery, uniforms and digital touchpoints, creating a cohesive presence for the practice.
The strength of the brand system has since supported the expansion of the practice into a second location, New Lambton Podiatry, where the identity has carried across seamlessly.
